Our Founder
Douglas Brown, Founder & Principal Data Scientist
Douglas Brown brings over two decades of experience at the intersection of data science, policy, and public service. Douglas Brown holds a Masters Degree in Statistics from Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. After college Douglas moved to Hampton Roads, VA to start his government consulting career. Douglas has led advanced analytics programs for organizations including the Department of Defense, NASA, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Department of Homeland Security. His work has ranged from predictive modeling to metric development to study design, data architecture, and machine learning.
Douglas founded Datawise Decision Support to help mission-driven organizations modernize their analytics pipelines and make smarter, evidence-based decisions. His approach blends rigorous statistical methods with a practical, plain-English consulting style—always focused on impact, trust, and lasting value for the communities his clients serve.
